Most will recognize Oher's name from the 2009 critically-acclaimed movie The Blind Side, which told the story of how the formerly homeless teen was taken in by a wealthy Memphis, Tennessee family who introduced him to football - a sport that not only helped him to go to college, but landed him a career in the NFL as a first-round draft pick.
'I’m not trying to prove anything,' Oher told ESPN.
Leigh Anne was a cheerleader, homecoming maid and an active member of her sorority Kappa Delta. Leigh Anne discussed seeing Michael playing in the Super Bowl with ABC News, saying: On Sunday, I will be bawling because that’s my child first of all – to see your child live out a dream is wonderful – but every time he comes out there it represents hope to me.
The Panthers gave my son a chance and I’m forever grateful. Before he was adopted by the Tuohy’s, Oher lived in various foster homes and dealt with periods of homelessness throughout his childhood, while his mother, Denise, was battling an addiction to crack cocaine.
The younger Tuohy is living on campus, but said he usually sees Oher “two or three times a week”.
“We’ve always been close, I always looked at him as a little brother, we always played games together, always been a sharp kid and he’s turned into a great guy,” Oher said during last month’s minicamp in Owings Mills.
'People look at me, and they take things away from me because of a movie. Everybody else that I know knows what type of player I am.
They don’t really see the skills and the kind of player I am. So that kind of stuff doesn’t worry me,' Oher said.
“Definitely not the same guy in the movie,” Oher said. He definitely can handle it, very mature, very smart. He’s definitely his own man.” Tuohy said his big brother had a “huge influence” on him growing up.

We have also become obsessed with her fabulous speciality cookies that she and business partner Laurie create for their company Whimsy Cookie Company. 😉 Other then that everything is just that – THINGS!
The first time we heard her family speak at a event in Dallas she just mesmerized us with her confidence, stage presence, wonderful message and her giving heart. I will say I go through mascara like crazy and Dior Blackout is absolutely the best! A lot of people assume since Im a young female that what is about to come out of my mouth will either be unintelligent or boring. I like to surprise audiences with my large personality and voice by sometimes speaking to large crowds with out a mike. I have found that some think just because I’m young that I’m not serious about growing my business.
She and her family are big believers in giving back and inspire others to do so as well. I tell them that I have been a cheerleader for 8 years so I have a loud voice.
